The game is metaverse-adaptive with cross-platform interoperability, allowing players to bring their 3D characters into other game environments.
Walker World Metaverse
In the Walker World, players can create, own and upgrade characters called Walkers. It also allows users to buy and sell in-game items, such as weapons and territories.
Walker World is a third-person, open-world sci-fi shooter-adventure.
The trailer shows Walkers running and shooting zombies in utopian worlds connected by what appear to be walkways between worlds.
Daniel Branteström, co-founder of Walker Labs, said, “Our goal with Walker World is to be a market-defining AAA quality game and immersive experience, and we are beyond excited to unveil the first glimpses of it. Our team is very proud of the story, the Walker characters and the world we are building. We see the metaverse as the next evolution of interoperable gameplay, and Walker World takes full advantage of these possibilities.”
Marco van den Heuvel, CEO of Merit Circle, commented, “Walker Labs understands the future of games without losing sight of what makes them truly fun. Their growing team already has some truly remarkable titles under its belt, and what I’ve already seen of Walker World is impressive. The story Walker Labs has written is so inventive and satisfying that I think players will be blown away, and the metaverse design means this game can go places never before imagined.”
Walker Labs has also announced a $2 million funding round. Merit Circle and Citizen X led the round, which was joined by Kevin Lin, Futureverse and Altered State Machine, among others. The developer also integrated 6,545 walkers, called “Cryptowalkers,” into Jadu’s AR Mirrorverse platform.
The game is scheduled for release in 2023.
