In a recent announcement by Mike Kondoudis, apparel company TOMMY HILFIGER has filed a trademark application to enter the NFT and Metaverse.
According to the new NFT and Metaverse trademark application, the company will enter virtual apparel, NFT-backed digital product marketplaces and the NFT and Metaverse communities.
The company is the latest to join the list of companies that have filed similar applications after J. Crew and Hugo Boss.

Tommy Hilfiger and its trademark application
As disclosed in the application, Tommy will issue downloadable virtual goods, online retail store services that will feature physical and virtual merchandise, entertainment services and an online community for digital assets, NFT and Metaverses.

According to disclosures made in the application, Tommy will host an online community website with digital assets, NFTs, metaverses and online worlds.
In addition, as mentioned in the application, it will offer an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of downloadable digital apparel, footwear, hats, fashion accessories, fragrances, eyewear, handbags, watches, jewelry, personal home care products and furniture, all authenticated by NFT.
Recently, luxury brand Gucci filed five trademark applications for its name and logo, indicating plans for NFT-backed media, virtual apparel, vehicles, real estate, fashion shows and currency, and cryptocurrency brokerage, exchange and marketplace services.
Notably, NFT brands in the U.S. have increased significantly in 2022, fully surpassing 4,000. In contrast to the previous year, when the number of brands was only 363, this year has seen remarkable growth, with March being the peak month for the number of brands.
