February 7, 2024 – Sky Mavis today announced a partnership with GMonsters, a Japan-based entertainment and gaming company, to launch new titles from the Fight League franchise on Ronin. In addition, MIXI, a prominent Japanese mobile game and app publisher that owns the Fight League IP, will provide comprehensive support to GMonsters, including planning, production, and supervision throughout the game development process.

MIXI, known for the highly successful Monster Strike, which has grossed over $10.5 billion and amassed 61 million players, has partnered with GMonsters to create more meaningful connections between players and the games they enjoy. Led by a team that has brought players titles such as Crossy Road, Ski Safari, Plant vs. Zombies 2 and Sonic Dash 2, GMonsters is developing a new generation of gaming experiences based on both original and established intellectual properties, starting with Fight League.
GMonsters plans to release three games based on the Fight League IP. The first title coming to Ronin is Fight League Survivor, an arcade game designed for casual players with simple controls. Players can create their own strategies using a combination of fighters and chips that provide buffs. The game also features weekly challenges for players to complete at different levels, with prizes awarded to the winners. In Q1 2024, Ronin users will be able to participate in the closed beta test of Fight League Survivor.
In the past year, Sky Mavis announced partnerships with nine different game studios; migrated Pixels, one of the most popular web3 games, to Ronin; partnered with record-breaking NFT project Cyberkongz to launch their Genkai Mint; and experienced a 350% increase in daily active addresses on Ronin. In 2024, Sky Mavis will build on this growth to make Ronin the best place to build and grow web3 games and expand the influence of the ecosystem.
“By partnering with GMonsters, we’re joining forces with pioneers who share our passion for innovative games. MIXI’s established presence in Japan and GMonsters’ proven expertise in IP and interactive entertainment, as evidenced by their successful titles such as Pokémon Medallion and collaborations with major industry players, play a pivotal role in Ronin’s long-term strategy. This partnership strengthens Ronin’s global appeal by blending anime-style gaming experiences with immersive web3 gaming elements that cater to our diverse community,” said Trung Nguyen, CEO and co-founder of Sky Mavis.
“What excites us most about the Ronin and Axie Infinity ecosystem is the extensive community of passionate gamers, the robust marketing support across multiple channels to reach more gamers, and the presence of a professional team with an international background similar to ours. We are thrilled that Fight League will have a home on Ronin and look forward to bringing our IP and entertainment expertise to the masses,” said Jia Shen, co-founder and CEO of GMonsters.
“The Sky Mavis team has first-hand experience in successfully scaling web3 games and creating infrastructure to meet the demands of a mass audience, and this knowledge is invaluable to us. We are excited to incorporate web3 technology into our Fight League IP to provide a new means of communication,” said Tatsuya Abe, Producer of MIXI.
