Amidst the growing popularity of metaverses, several projects have already emerged on the market. A recent and very exciting addition to this is Silks. Silks is a blockchain-based, play-to-win (P2E) metaverse, and promises to be an innovative derivative gaming experience.
In short, Silks is based on real-world thoroughbred horse racing, with each Silks NFT digital horse being a derivative of a real-world racehorse.

Silks is the first metaverse of its kind
Silks is a P2E metaverse that offers a virtual world in which players can experience “the thrill of owning thoroughbred racehorses.” Players can acquire, trade and interact with a range of NFT assets within the game, such as Silks avatars, Silks horses, land and stables. More importantly, players can earn tokens by showing off their gaming skills and contributing to the Silks ecosystem.
What makes Silks truly unique is that each Silks Horse is directly linked to a real-world thoroughbred horse. Thanks to this innovative approach, a Silks horse will be able to track real-time data regarding the bloodline, training progress and racing results of its real-world counterpart.
In addition, each time the racehorse wins a race or has offspring in the real world, the owner of its corresponding Silks Horse will earn tokens. These tokens are $STT, Silks’ in-game transaction token. Players can use $STT tokens to purchase in-game items in the marketplace, including land, stables, Silks avatars and Silks horses.
In addition, the Silks metaverse offers another token: the Silks government token, $SLK. Holders of $SLK can become part of the Silks DAO and vote on major decisions on the platform. In addition, players can also convert their $STT tokens into $SLK.
NFTs: Silks avatars, Silks horses, lands, stables and more.
The Silks metaverse features a number of exciting NFTs. The most important of these are the Silks avatars and Silks horses. Players must first own a Silks avatar to purchase a Silks horse. In fact, the Silks Genesis avatar collection will drop on April 27. Each NFT will cost 0.15 ETH.
Following the launch of the Silks Avatar, Silks will drop the first batch of its Horses in mid-2022. It will then drop the next crop of horses each year in parallel with the real-world registration of yearlings (yearling Thoroughbred horses) in the United States.
In addition to Avatars and Horses, Silks offers other NFTs. For example, the Siks metaverse will be located on 202,500 acres of virtual land. Each parcel represents an NFT and it is there that players will build their horse farms. Stables, the main structure needed to run a horse farm, is another NFT in the Silks ecosystem.
According to the project roadmap, the grounds and stables will drop in the third quarter of 2022. The metaverse registration will follow in Q4. Finally, the metaverse will go live in the first quarter of 2023.
All in all, Silks looks like a very promising metaverse project, especially with its P2E-derived structure. With its plans to add more player roles and NFT properties in the future, those interested in the game will have a lot to look forward to.
