Samsung Latin America has launched its “House of SAM,” a metaverse experience where users can learn more about the Samsung brand and products.
Samsung Latin America has announced the debut of its “House of SAM” metaverse experience on the Decentraland virtual reality platform.
House of SAM
Users will be able to learn about the Samsung brand and products in a fully immersive environment.
In fact, the House of SAM will function as an “experimentation center” where avatars will be able to interact and participate in exclusive courses, shows and events while learning about SmartThings – the app that connects and controls smart electronic devices – and other branded devices, such as Samsung’s smart TVs.
Users will also be able to play mini-games such as Color Match and participate in the Let’s Dance Challenge, where game winners and guests will be able to collect wearables (NFTs) for their avatars.
The house, which debuted on October 1, is located on the lot adjacent to the Samsung 837X concept store in the metaverse.
An important part of Samsung’s effort to reach out to Generation Z has been its participation in various Web3 activities.
Last month, it launched its Discover Samsung event on its Discord channel along with a gamified NFT hunt with prizes ranging from $0 to $500.
In August, the company struck deals with major retailers to offer real benefits to New Galaxy NFT holders.
In July, Samsung introduced Space Tycoon, a virtual world where users can develop, play and share games and experiences using Samsung Electronics products.
On the launch of this new digital space and its objectives, Arthur Wong, marketing director of Samsung Latam, said:
Our customers will be able to interact with each other and participate in shows, courses and exclusive events that we will offer for free in Decentraland, one of the most democratic and open spaces in the metaverse. Our goal is to be ever closer to Generation Z, our youngest consumers who no longer establish boundaries between the physical and the virtual.
Activities and prizes
The House of SAM will offer a series of brand-related mini-games, which will also give users prizes in the form of exclusive wearables for their avatars on Decentraland. Some of the Samsung brand’s most iconic products are also present in the virtual space, such as the Freestyle portable projector.
This is one of many moves Samsung has made directly into the metaverse, although the company has also been active in the NFT (non-fungible token) market and bitcoin mining chip business. In July, the company launched another metaverse experience called Space Tycoon as part of the Roblox platform. In January, the company opened its own store in Decentraland.
