Opera Crypto Browser
Opera Crypto Browser users can access any dApp through the browser. To let users know whether the dApp is secure, the new version of Web3 Guard includes Dapp Check, which analyzes known security risks associated with decentralized applications.
This feature checks whether a particular dApp contains suspicious code, has been created by a malicious owner or has been audited.
Another new feature is the seeding phrase spoofing check, designed to protect users from spoofing attacks targeting users’ seeding phrases and private keys, which can be used to gain full access to a user’s digital assets.
As part of the checks, Web3 Guard scans web pages for telltale signs of exploitation, such as common keywords and phishing properties, without compromising users’ privacy or personal data.
Other browser updates include a malicious address checker within Opera Crypto Wallet, which checks recipient addresses against a list of known malicious actors and alerts users if suspicious activity is detected.
The browser also has the ability to enable HTTPS everywhere, which provides an additional layer of protection and ensures that visited websites use proper encryption protocols.
In addition, Opera Crypto Browser has integrated support for MultiversX and NEAR tokens in Opera Crypto Wallet, support for P2P payments from Binance Connect, as well as sending and receiving cryptocurrencies using Unstoppable Domains.
“The browsers most people use today are not designed to handle the complexity of Web3,” said Danny Yao, Head of Product at Opera. “With this launch, we take a huge leap forward with precise protection features that permit Web3 programs for use greater securely.”
