Nissan unveils its new Electric Car with Metaverse testing

Nissan recently presented its new electric mini-vehicle “Nissan Sakura” in the metaverse, according to a press release.

Through a virtual gallery called “Nissan Crossing”, visitors can understand the set of technologies developed by the Japanese company.

In addition, its Invisible-to-Visible (I2V) technology, which uses a 3D augmented reality interface to merge the real world and the metaverse.

It is estimated that Nissan’s metaverse in the near future will also host the launch of other vehicles and the realization of digital events.

I2V technology

By 2025 Nissan plans to launch two vehicles using Invisible-to-Visible (I2V) technology.

This type of technology is intended to improve car driving by providing drivers with “enhanced information about the surrounding area, including predictive information in front of the vehicle.”

Similarly, Nissan will make use of the metaverse to show distant relatives, friends and others inside the vehicle through 3D avatars.

“Avatars can join in-vehicle as companions or assist in driving by offering tips and suggestions,” the company said.

Nissan Sakura features

Nissan Sakura is an electric mini-car with a base price of just under $14,000 (2,333,100 yen).

The car is powered by a 20kW lithium-ion battery. It has a top speed of 130 km/h (80 mph) and enough power for 180 km of range.

Inside, the car has enough space for four people, with a luggage capacity of 107 liters.

Nissan Sakura is the first vehicle to feature an advanced driving assistance system; it also has automatic steering, acceleration, braking and parking capabilities.
