The campaign is a tribute to the great basketball legends and the new generations of stars that have succeeded them, and now fans can experience NBA Lane first-hand in the metaverse.

Starting today through June 30, anyone 18 and older in the U.S. and Canada can enter NBA Lane in Horizon Worlds through the Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headset. The immersive VR experience allows users to celebrate their love of the NBA with some fun activities.
Here’s the full list of activities (provided by Meta):
- Free Throw Shootout: A multiplayer mini-game where you compete against friends and strangers to see who can score the most shots on a moving hoop within the allotted time.
- Low Gravity Slam Dunk Contest: Fly across the court as you try to impress the judges with your slam dunk skills.
- Big screen highlights: Watch playoff highlights, player interviews and other NBA content on a giant video screen.
- Selfies in the NBA Trophy Room: Try out the new Larry O’Brien Trophy in VR and take a few selfies with your friends.
The NBA Lane virtual reality experience is the latest chapter in the league’s campaign to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The league previously premiered the Playoffs on NBA Lane short film on March 30 on all social media platforms @NBA and at NBA.com/75.
The short film features six NBA stars and more than 20 NBA legends, broadcasters, celebrities and notable faces from around the game and captures the excitement, culture and history of the NBA postseason.
Set in the fictional neighborhood of “NBA Lane,” Playoffs on NBA Lane follows an illustrious group of NBA fans and legends as they flock to the neighborhood arena in preparation for the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
Playoffs on NBA Lane delves into the metaverse with highlights infused with ESPN’s “NBA CourtView” 3D video technology. In addition, popular Fortnite characters Peely and Fishstick made an appearance at the arena to kick off the NBA postseason.
In addition to the metaverse experiences, the NBA also launched NFT to honor the league’s 75th anniversary season. On February 4, it unveiled its 2022 All-Star Court NFT.
