Meta will host J Balvin Futurum: A VR Concert Experience. The 45-minute immersive concert is produced in partnership with iHeartRadio and will premiere on Friday, February 17 at 18:00 PT on iHeartRadio’s official Facebook and Instagram pages, Meta Quest TV, and Messenger’s Watch Together.

The J Balvin VR Experience

The 180-degree concert experience was created primarily for VR and will take viewers through a retrospective of some of the best hits in Balvin’s career, such as “No Me Conoce”, “Mi Gente”, “La Canción”, “I Like It”, among others.

J Balvin has stated, “I’m always looking for new and innovative ways to expand access to art, and the virtual reality space offers limitless opportunities. The whole show has a futuristic feel to it that includes crazy robots twice as big as me. It’s going to be one of my wildest shows yet, I’m grateful to Meta and iHeart for this collaboration, which will allow me to explore my passion for technology in such a way that my fans will experience my music in a different way.”

Recently, Balvin championed mental health awareness with the launch of OYE, a bilingual wellness app in Spanish and English.

“This is one of my biggest dreams, as it comes from my heart.” “I am a human being like everyone else and I felt I had to make the world a better space, starting with mental health,” said Balvin.

As co-founder, Balvin will serve as Chief Dream Officer, or CDO, and will be responsible for pushing the OYE team to dream big. The app was founded with wellness creative activist Mario Chamorro, who serves as CEO, and creative strategist Patrick Dowd, who is now the company’s COO. “We transformed the way we talk approximately emotional and mental well-being, something this is seen as a personal burden and is a possibility to exercise to create new aspects of your life,” Dowd explains. “In fact, we created two versions of the app that we launched this month. One is in Spanish, the other in English, so our team is bilingual and spread across America.”

Other VR and AR events

Last month, Gorillaz performed a concert in augmented reality (AR) thanks to Google technology.

The virtual band performed a concert in London and New York without being physically present. The musical artists wanted to join the metaverse.

For example, after his collaboration with Roblox, Elton John stated that the metaverse is perfect for the next phase of his career.

VR and AR technologies enable a more immersive concert experience, as fans can feel as if they are in the front row of a live concert even if they are not physically present. The technology allows people from all over the world to attend a concert without having to travel to a specific location.

Produced by Media.Monks and iHeartRadio, J Balvin Futurum will also be available on Meta Quest TV, and those without headphones can follow the show through Messenger’s Watch Together and iHeartRadio’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The event is the highlight of iHeartRadio’s VR Concert Series. Previous iHeartRadio VR performances include John Legend, Carrie Underwood, Kim Petras, and many more.

Mark your calendars: J Balvin Futurum: A VR Concert Experience begins at 18:00 PT on February 17.
