Fashion company Marc Jacobs has filed a trademark application that signals its plans to enter the metaverse and the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the application, filed with the USPTO on Aug. 2, the company plans to offer

  • Virtual goods, namely clothing, footwear, hats and fashion accessories, among others;
  • Retail store services and online store services with virtual goods;
  • NFTs;
  • An online community of digital assets, NFTs and metaverses.

The news was shared today via Twitter by metaverse brand lawyer Michael Kondoudis.

The number of metaverse and NFT-related trademark applications being filed on a daily basis is on the rise.

Many other fashion brands are following in Marc Jacobs’ footsteps and joining the metaverse and NFT space.

Champion, Under Armour, Herman Miller, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton and Carhartt , among others, have already filed similar trademark applications.
