Link-in-bio platform, Linktree, has announced the deployment of new NFT features for creators in the Web3 space. The set of new features will enable NFT creators to streamline their online identities and monetize their followings.
Linktree and NFTs
With the new NFT features, Linktree enables creators to monetize their craft and build a digital identity in new ways. Linktree users can also easily access NFTs and build a community around ownership on the platform.
Developed in collaboration with OpenSea, the new features include links to NFT galleries, NFT profile images and backgrounds, and NFT lockdown.
We're excited about the possibilities of #Web3 in creator empowerment 💪
Today we're launching 3 new features that allow creators to elevate their Linktrees with Web3. We developed some of these features in partnership with @OpenSea 🤝

The NFT gallery link allows creators on Linktree to display NFTs directly on their Linktree by adding the URL of the OpenSea file to generate the preview. Users have the option to add their MetaMask portfolio to verify file ownership. Alternatively, users can also link their MetaMask portfolio and display up to six NFTs of their own in the gallery. Visitors can click on the OpenSea link on a creator’s page to view and purchase an NFT.
Creators can also use their NFT as a profile picture (pfp) or background on their Linktree. Like Twitter’s verified NFT pfp feature, verified NFT pfps on Linktree will be displayed in a hexagonal frame to distinguish them from normal profile pictures. There will be a verification badge at the bottom of the creator’s Linktree at the bottom. The platform says this feature is powered by OpenSea and MetaMask.

Linktree is also introducing the NFT blocking feature that allows creators to block their links using smart contract addresses. Only visitors who own NFTs from a particular collection launched by the creator can unlock the link by adding their wallet to prove ownership. Linktree says this feature allows creators to simplify profit sharing.
2. NFT Profile Image and Background ⬢ 🖼
You can now use your #NFTs as your #Linktree profile image or background. We'll verify them for you and display profile images in a hexagonal frame 👀 and backgrounds with a verification badge. pic.twitter.com/JjomViuN6R

“Web3 and the power of blockchain provide exciting ways for creators to monetize their passion and build their community. As the creator ecosystem emerges in this new version of the Internet, Linktree is pleased to provide a home for creators to aggregate their digital assets and showcase what’s important to them,” said Alex Zaccaria, co-founder and CEO of Linktree.
3. NFT Lock 🔒
Community building is critical to your #NFT project. So we've added a feature that makes it easy. With the NFT Lock, you can lock any link by adding an NFT contract address and reward your community with exclusive access. pic.twitter.com/jiat4JlOgL

Linktree follows other Web2 companies in entering the Web3 space with plans for NFT features. Spotify has been looking for Web3 talent and recently made its foray into the Roblox metaverse. It has also begun testing a feature that will allow artists to promote their NFTs. Last week, Instagram announced that it is testing its new NFT feature with a select group of U.S.-based creators and collectors.
Today’s announcement follows Linktree’s recent $110 million raise in March, which valued the company at $1.3 billion. The platform boasts more than 1.2 billion monthly visits and is used by more than 24 million creators, artists and brands worldwide, including Gary Vaynerchuk, Dua Lipa, HBO and many others.
