PARIS, FRANCE – 11th May 2023 – Kinetix, the AI startup powering emotes in video games and virtual worlds, today announces the public release of its pioneering Emote Infrastructure.
Unity game developers have a reason to celebrate! Thanks to the Emote SDK, they can now increase player engagement and even generate additional revenue streams. Compatible with Windows, iOS, and Android, this technology allows players to express themselves and socialize through emotes in 3D gaming content.
Emotes have been around for over two decades in MMO games, but their popularity skyrocketed after the viral success of Fortnite Battle Royale. In fact, a recent report from the Blockchain Research Lab found that 74% of players in games like PUBG and Roblox use emotes, with 22% using them every time they play.

However, incorporating emotes into games has traditionally required specialized 3D animation skills and hard coding for each game, making it difficult for developers to keep up with demand. But with the Emote SDK, Unity developers can easily meet this demand and keep players engaged.
In creating emotes that fit seamlessly into almost any virtual environment, the Kinetix Emote Infrastructure mirrors the approach of Ready Player Me which has revolutionized avatar creation by enabling a consistent visual identity across games and virtual worlds.
Developers who want to enhance their gaming experience with a vast library of emotes can now do so with the Kinetix SDK – and it’s completely free! With over 1,000 emotes already available in the cloud-based library, developers can easily integrate and monetize these features into their games.
What’s more, the Kinetix SDK allows for a plug-and-play approach, enabling developers to choose which features they want to activate. They can select from a range of emotes that are compatible with their game’s avatars, visual style, and user interface. Additionally, developers can integrate the fully customizable Kinetix emote wheel, hotkeys, and contextual emotes.
But that’s not all – gamers can even create their own in-game emotes using a web app that utilizes Kinetix Studio’s generative AI technology to convert videos into 3D animations. With Kinetix SDK, developers have the flexibility and creativity to offer players a truly customized and engaging gaming experience.
By utilizing Kinetix’s technology, game developers can respond quickly to viral trends and update their in-game shops regularly. This ensures that the gaming experience remains fresh and engaging for players.
Additionally, the Emote catalog provides access to official collections of emotes from top brands and IPs, expanding the range of options available to gamers.
After a successful beta testing phase, the Kinetix SDK is now live and currently being integrated into over 10 games and virtual worlds. Some of the popular titles that have already adopted this technology include ZEPETO, The Sandbox, Amber Metaverse, and Next Dancer.
Yassine Tahi, CEO and Co-founder of Kinetix, commented:
“In today’s world of live-service games and user-generated content, the importance of having a steady flow of engaging content cannot be overstated. Emotes have become a crucial component of this, as players seek new ways to express themselves in-game. By making their emotes infrastructure accessible to all Unity games, Kinetix is proud to have optimized it for developers. From cloud hosting to P2P networking and optimized file sizes, they have taken care of all the details to ensure that games can increase their engagement and revenue with ease, without sacrificing performance.”
In April 2023, Kinetix caught the attention of industry experts with the launch of ‘Text2Emotes’ – their latest generative AI technology. With this innovative feature, users can create unique emotes using just a simple text prompt. Kinetix intends to integrate Text2Emotes into their SDK later this year, giving developers access to even more tools to enhance their gaming experiences.
Since its founding in 2020, Kinetix has secured a total of $12.5 million in seed funding from a variety of investors. These include Adam Ghobarah, founder of Top Harvest Capital, Sparkle Ventures, and several virtual world platforms and entrepreneurs who see the potential in Kinetix’s innovative approach to gaming technology.
