American R&B singer Jason Derulo and Atlantic Records have partnered with metaverse technology company TerraZero for the singer’s immersive activation in Decentraland.
Just as celebrities have begun engaging with their fans in the virtual world, Derulo is doing the same as he promotes his latest single ‘Slidin’, released a month ago.

In this partnership, TerraZero will recreate Derulo’s music video for the single in Decentraland, premiere the video and give fans the opportunity to style the environment themselves.
TerraZero will also give one lucky fan and their friends access to an exclusive metaverse pool party at the music video mansion. The event and music video premiere in the metaverse will go live in Decentralandia on Wednesday, June 29.
“I would have given anything for this kind of connection with my idols growing up. The Metaverse, and how people can come together to experience something special? This is definitely the future of the Internet, the way TerraZero is doing it and what we’ve done together,” said Jason Derulo.
Recently, TerraZero and Derulo’s label, Atlantic Records, have partnered to expand the label’s horizon of activations in multiple virtual worlds.
A unique part of Derulo’s metaverse activation is that he will attend the music video premiere as his own avatar, created by TerraZero.
“I’ve always been a gamer at heart, which has always been reflected in the way I write my music and cultivate my career. Being an avatar in the Metaverse and connecting with people directly is a new way to show who I am beyond the screen and speakers. It’s super real in a very unreal way,” added Derulo.
Fans will be able to interact with Derulo’s avatar in the experience and in Decentraland during the premiere.
The concept was spearheaded by TerraZero metaverse director Ryan Kieffer and experience director Brandon F. Johnson, featuring new types of interactions and stories that merge real-world public figures with infinitely open-ended stories and interactive and social moments in the virtual world.
Dan Reitzik, CEO of TerraZero Technologies, believes that an activation like this is just the beginning of what multi-faceted artists and entertainers can do.
“Jason is a fantastic talent and an amazing artist to work with, but when he goes on tour, he can only perform to the audience in front of him. In the Metaverse, we want to bring artists like Jason Derulo to a global audience – why play to 20,000 people in a stadium when you can play to 20,000,000 in the Metaverse?”
TerraZero is a vertically integrated metaverse development group and Web 3.0 technology company. In January, the company issued one of the first mortgages in the virtual world.
