With the growing adoption of blockchain technology to develop the next generation of Web3 Internet and decentralized applications, Identity Management Institute has launched the Metaverse Security Center to increase awareness of Metaverse security risks and Web3 security best practices through the Certified Metaverse Security Consultant (CMSC) training and certification program.
With blockchain technology at its core, the Metaverse is an advanced Web3 version of today’s Internet that offers an immersive digital space to track the transition from our physical lives to cyberspace and reshape the way we live, from finance, education, business, gaming and entertainment to new forms of digital ownership and payment using NFT and crypto.
Ownership and self-custody are key features of the Web3, where power and control are returned to users, in contrast to the current centralized applications of the Web2.
The new Internet is expected to offer portability, ownership and transparency with the highest level of encryption and a higher level of accountability for private key custody, identity management and security.
