Hyundai introduces NFT membership for IONIQ 6 NFT Collection owners

Hyundai Motor Company today unveiled the roadmap for its membership program called IONIQ Citizenship, a service package for IONIQ 6 NFT Collection holders.

The IONIQ 6 NFT Collection was unveiled on July 14, the same day as the world premiere of the new IONIQ 6 electric vehicle. The NFT Collection is Hyundai’s second NFT Collection designed to appeal to millennial and Generation Z consumers.

What does the IONIQ 6 NFT offer?

The IONIQ Citizenship provides NFT owners with exclusive experiences and utilities that vary by rarity, such as access to digital spaces, special digital content and physical items related to the IONIQ 6.

IONIQ 6 experiences will be extended through various online and offline partnerships starting with digital wearable gifts and exclusive VIP access on ‘Planet Hyundai’, Hyundai Motor’s virtual space opened on the Korean virtual reality platform, ZEPETO, in collaboration with Naver Z.

Owners of the NFT collection also have the opportunity to redeem a gift card for a customized physical NFTYC case (NFT Your Case).

NFTYC is a phone case maker powered by Casetify that allows users to plug in their wallets and then choose the NFT artwork they want printed on the case.

Gradually, Hyundai will create an interactive virtual space where an exclusive event for NFT holders, ‘IONIQ Digital Garage’, will be held.

IONIQ 6 NFT Collection

The IONIQ 6 collection consists of 5,000 NFTs in six themes: Fun Driving, Stress-free Driving, Work, Socializing, Healing and Entertainment.

Each of the NFTs carries unique traits that are randomly generated by combining various backgrounds, exterior colors and objects.

To lower the barrier of entry into the Web3 world the NFTs were launched for free so consumers could participate in the experiences offered by the membership program.

We will continue to offer ‘phygital (physical + digital)’ experiences that merge the real and digital worlds for the new generation of customers who are more accustomed to digital technology.”

Hyundai and its subsidiary have been making strides in the NFT world. Its credit card business, Hyundai Card, first launched an NFT program in March as part of its digital expansion strategy.

Last week Hyundai filed six new brand applications for its Genesis Shield to expand its Web3 efforts.
