Herman Miller, the U.S. manufacturer of office furniture, equipment and home furnishings, has filed a trademark application expressing its intention to enter the metaverse and embrace non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the trademark application, filed with the USPTO on August 2, the company intends to offer.

  • Virtual goods, specifically furniture, home decor, outdoor furniture, etc;
  • Online retail store services featuring virtual goods;
  • NFTs;
  • Financial services, namely providing electronic transfer of a digital currency or digital token.

The news was shared via Twitter by metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.

The number of metaverse and NFT-related trademark applications being filed on a daily basis is on the rise.

Many other fashion brands are following in Marc Jacobs’ footsteps and joining both the metaverse and the NFT space.

Champion, Under Armour, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton and Carhartt, among others, have already filed similar trademark applications.
