Ember Sword has released a pre-alpha leak in the form of a video with exciting gameplay and some WIP (Work in Progress) content. It was a way to update the community on everything going on behind the scenes and completely renew their enthusiasm. This leak could indicate that a Beta is closer than ever.
Some time has passed since the start of Ember Sword’s development and the team has grown and maintained a healthy and supportive community since the beginning.
Although the game is still far from finished and we are in the middle of crypto-winter, most of this community is still there. In our last article about Ember Sword, we talked about a playable demo that allowed everyone to get an idea of what this web3 ARPG will be like.
But these new screenshots of the game look much better than the last demo.
Ember Sword WIP Demo Preview
In this video, we can see a big difference from the demo. Here we can see some combat, characters dodging and jumping attacks from enemies, and some of the architecture of the city.
Personally, I think that for a “browser game”, the gameplay seems quite addictive. Add to this the fact that sooner or later it will also be available for mobile devices, and you have the recipe to attract a large audience. The game is still in the early stages of development and there are already dozens of organized guilds ready to start playing Ember Sword, which is an indicator of how big and enthusiastic everything is.
What is Ember Sword
Ember Sword, the blockchain-based massively multiplayer online multiplayer online game (MMORPG), has released a new pre-alpha gameplay video.
Ember Sword is a web3 ARPG in the ImmutableX ecosystem. The game has simple, cartoonish graphics and will offer everything players can expect from an ARPG:
- Quests
- Nations
- PvP
- PvE
- Guilds
- Crafts
- Professions
- Equipment
- Role Playing Games
- Trade
It has a significant emphasis on nations. In ARPGs and MMORPGs, nations usually only influence PvP activities. But in Ember Sword it’s more complex than that.
Nations influence the zone in which players will start and each zone is linked to a certain type of activity. For example, there are zones related to PvP activities, others to world bosses, and others to quests and trading.
Players, when choosing a nation, have to consider what kind of activities they want to do.
Of course, there will also be PvP activities between the different nations. Initially, only solar wood will be available.
The four available nations are:
- Sevrend
- Solarwoord
- Duskeron
- Ediseau
Then, as a web3 game, it also has NFTs and in the future a crypto token. It will always be free-to-play and NFTs will exist in the form of cosmetics, packs and badges. Players, when fighting monsters, will be able to drop some of these NFT skins, which can be sold on the ImmutableX marketplace.
As for the lots, they will be used to earn tokens as passive income and to build infrastructure such as guild houses and stores. They sold out in 2021.
Badges also sold out in 2021 and will give early access and tokens to owners.
