French retail giant Carrefour is causing a stir in the metaverse with its Sandbox-based mission to save the bees. The retail giant recently launched a supermarket in the virtual realm to celebrate the essential pollinators.
Carrefour will kick off its new non-fungible venture with the launch of its own NFT collection. Thus, 15 unique “NFBEE” designs of varying rarity will land in the metaverse on May 7. They will all arrive via the Sandbox Market trading center in a flurry of black and yellow.
Welcome to The #CarrefourNFBEE Supermarket, our first collection of #NFT, dedicated to saving bees!🐝
In May, you will able to choose from 15 NFBEEs. The money raised by the sale will be entirely donated to the BEEFUND of the NGO Fondation de France 🙏

Each of the voxeled NFBEEs will represent a mix of endearing insect traits, along with the food plants to which they devote their lives, and in keeping with their worthy mission, Carrefour will donate 100% of all funds raised to the BEEFUND branch of the Fondation de France.
In addition to the wonderful NFBEE collection, Carrefour will also build its own grandiose enclosure at The Sandbox. A supermarket-style temple dedicated to bees and the preservation of biodiversity. As such, Carrefour will prepare a bee-themed experience for the fourth season of Sandbox Alpha, coming to the metaverse this summer.
The decline of the world’s bee population is no laughing matter. That’s why any help for these honorable members of the insect kingdom is cause for celebration.
