According to Julien’s Auctions CEO Darren Julien, Sir Ringo Starr was a “groundbreaking auction legend.”
The NFTs will feature animated artwork and a “custom-made drum composition recorded and played” by Ringo Starr himself.
Also, part of the proceeds from Ringo Starr’s NFT collection will go to his charity, The Lotus Foundation. In short, this is an organization that supports projects to improve the social welfare and health of people in various areas.
Each available NFT is a limited edition of one to four. Five different NFTs, each consisting of four, for a total of 20 NFTs in the collection.
Each NFT comes with a 25″ x 25″ canvas print autographed by the legendary musician.
Holders of the NFTs have access to an exclusive virtual tour of RingoLand, an innovative digital gallery experience. After the auction, all successful bidders can also join Starr in this virtual hangout conducted by Spatial.io on the web, VR or mobile via private invitation.
“I just wanted to be a drummer, but you never know where a new idea or path will take you,” said Ringo Starr. “This new technology is so far out there that it inspired me and I loved creating these NFTs combining my art and my music. Who would have thought I would be spreading Peace and Love in the Metaverse.”
