Caliverse announced a partnership with KT Alpha to expand its metaverse platform to include virtual reality (VR) content.
Caliverse and KT Alpha
Caliverse, a subsidiary of Lotte Data Communication, has announced a partnership with KT Alpha, one of the subsidiaries of KT (Korea Telecom, one of Korea’s most popular telecommunications companies).
KT Alpha is the largest copyright holder in South Korea, with more than 20,000 video content, including foreign movies, animations, and dramas.
It supplies an immense amount of content to over-the-top video services platforms such as Netflix, Coupang, Wavve, Tving, and Watcha, as well as cable TV and IPTV channels.
The collaboration will enable Caliverse to expand its metaverse platform by incorporating virtual reality (VR) content. To do so, the company will draw on content from KT Alpha, which already supplies rights to the content in various genres – movies, animations, and domestic series – that are distributed through popular streaming services, such as Netflix, Wavve, and Watcha.
Caliverse is growing a metaverse platform to allow users to explore a digital metropolis, store, and interact with content in an extra immersive manner, as though they have been there in man or woman.
The company is employing live-action footage, real-time 3D rendering, and interactive technologies to deliver the most accurate experience possible.
Some of the video-related projects Caliverse has worked on to date include Interactive VR Cinema, a 118-minute VR drama in which players can experience various storylines by choosing the protagonist’s words and actions, and Tech Vision Trailer, a trailer showcasing Hyundai’s design work and functional testing in VR.
“We are considering continuing our partnership to use KT Alpha content for Virtual Reality content so that it can be available for the launch of our metaverse,” said Kim Dong-kyu, CEO of Caliverse.
Finally, K-pop fans can also look forward to watching concerts and other content from their favorite stars.
One of Caliverse’s goals is to bring this popular Korean music culture to its metaverse so that people can enjoy it wherever they are.

Caliverse will be the next generation of the Metaverse
Caliverse, a South Korean company led by Dongkyu Kim, has developed patented technology that captures the VR user’s gaze and voice to create a unique interactive experience.
The rendering of the movie synthesis, or rather the person, takes place in real-time. It runs on an operating technology network that forms an MMO server – Massively Multiplayer Online (massively multiplayer online).
Extremely detailed and realistic graphics are used here to develop interactive Metaverse content in a different and more advanced way than other similar Metaverses.
Caliverse is now preparing to expand the capabilities of its users: They will be able to buy land, buildings and avatars made with NFT, as well as shop in a VR mall and attend concerts together with 65,000 other spectators.
Avatars, interiors, and other user-generated content will also be customizable, for an even more personalized experience.
