The term “Move to Earn” refers to an ecosystem of NFT platforms or games that provide rewards for doing physical activities in real life. Learn what it’s all about and what the most prominent projects are.
For more than a year it has been common to read or hear about Play to Earn (P2E) games, where users use their skills in a totally virtual environment. However, Web 3.0 is about to go much further with Move to Earn.
What are Move to Earn games?
The Move to Earn concept is quite novel and unlike fully immersive systems, it directly relates the real world to the metaverse.
Move to Earn games are based on rewarding users for performing various activities in the real world, such as walking, jogging or playing sports. These physical efforts and performances are rewarded with tokens or cryptocurrencies in app ecosystems or NFT games.
To correlate virtual and physical environments, smartphones play a fundamental role as communication interfaces with some of their tools such as accelerometers, satellite positioning systems and mobile networks transmitting the data.
Move to Earn platforms work under concepts known in P2E: blockchain, NFT and GameFi, elements that manage to create robust systems in security and capabilities for decentralized developments.

Developed on the Solana network, it features a token called STEPN, which is currently ranked #73 on CoinMarketCap.
The game offers rewards to its users for walking, as long as they have NFT pieces, which can be acquired in secondary markets such as OpenSea, for a cost of over 3 SOL, approximately 96 USD.

Walken
It is one of the most recent projects, its test version was launched during this month of June 2022. Its token is WLKN and is positioned within the CoinMarketCap listing as 2804.
One of the advantages offered by Walken is that it allows access without making any kind of investment. They will soon enable rewards for all types of users.
This game does not offer earnings directly for walking, but the steps taken during the day, will be inputs for our pets, these must fight with others to get the token and the greater the distance walked, the stronger they will be. Walken works on the Solana network.
❗️We've heard the voices of players who have saved up over 200 $WLKN on their pending balance👛and found it impossible to push them the Wallet. Today you can transfer up to 650 $WLKN to your wallet at a time, so don’t miss this opportunity⭐️The limit will be pushed back soon ☺️ pic.twitter.com/AcPSP525yS

The MOOV, the project’s governance token, is positioned as CoinMarketCap’s 908. The Move to Earn bet is quite original, as it works under an augmented reality algorithm.
Users compete directly with others through the metaverse, the smartphone camera being necessary to interact. Access can be done for free or by purchasing NFT pieces.
