Vitalik Buterin, the Co-Founder of Ethereum, charted a course for Ethereum’s future by addressing immediate priorities. He highlighted scalability as a challenge being tackled through L2 solutions while emphasizing the need for interoperability. User account security was identified as a paramount concern, which can be addressed through multi-sig and social recovery mechanisms.
Additionally, privacy emerged as a significant issue, with Buterin suggesting the adoption of stealth addresses and ZK social recovery. In conclusion, the rallying cry became ZK REAM: ‘Zero Knowledge Rules Everything Around Me’!
Esteemed individuals such as Tim Beiko, Skylar Weaver, Barry Whitehat, Piper Merriam, Andy Guzman, Leo Lara from the Ethereum Foundation; Cy Li, Director of UETH; Eli Ben-Sasson, Co-Founder of StarkWare; Scott Moore, Co-founder of Gitcoin; and Balaji Srinivasan, Author of “The Network State,” shared their valuable insights at the event.
EDCON was further enriched by the participation of ETH Montenegro, led by the ambassador group of UETH (De University of Ethereum). They not only presented on stage but also actively contributed as volunteers throughout the event. Looking ahead, EDCON 2024 will be held in Japan, with the aim of igniting the local community with the same enthusiasm and inspiration that characterized the previous EDCON in Montenegro.
